Its great to have so many communications platforms available. How do I decide when to use: 1) the website, 2) FaceBook, or 3) the mailing list? I would appreciate some discussion and guidance on this. Thanks!

Thank you!!!

1) this looks great -- easy to use etc.:)

2) is it possible to have a different url -- perhaps indivisiblebayshore.org?

3) daily action tab - we would need a person willing and able to do this on a daily basis.  based on our group's participation level, this may be too big of an ask initially?  but - worth discussion further

4) add "About Us" tab - that explains the who, what when, why, etc. of our group

i'll click around a bit more and may have further comments -- but thanks again, Lee!!

I see in an earlier email that you talked about changing the domain name:)  Thanks

The domain name indivisiblebayshore.org  is now being forwarded to this site.

You are now authorized as an "Editor" and can edit content on the site. Perhaps we can identify several volunteer editors to take on various roles as you suggest so we can share the work and cover for each other as life goes on. The system tracks changes so we know what user made each change. This can help identify any editors who are having difficulties.

The home page is adapted from the information sheet you distributed. I intended it to fill the role of "about us"  - Note that the page displays only the "teaser" and the user has to click on "Read More" to view the full article. All of this can be changed, but let's wait for a few more comments. (I like to "integrate" feedback.)

This is not your job, Lee, but I think we need a catchier tag line...

In much earlier discussions (when members were working on the mission statement), the following tag lines were proposed:

Because inaction is not an option.

Giving voice to the voiceless.

Seeking truth and justice.

This is the kind of question we could open up to the whole group to get feedback.  It would be nice to have something both catchy and short -- so that it could fit easily on a bumper sticker, yard sign, etc.  And, something that would be easy to use/modify as a hashtag.  I'll put a call out via FB, too.

How about:

Thinking Globally and acting locally,

Advancing Liberty and Justice for all,

Promoting Real Good through political action.

Four of us met today to discuss messaging for the organization.  To provide a large set of alternatives to choose from, we listed these descriptive words and phrases:

Opportunity, equal rights, transparency, democracy, justice, real good, future, flourishing, prosperity, opportunity, caring, helping, global, fairness, kindness, facts, love, dignity, respect, dialogue, wisdom, egalitarian, humanity, decency, and understanding.

We chose the single word Respect as most representative of the group's goals.

The word respect is versatile. It can be used alone, or along with tag lines, for example:

Respect Black Lives

Respect Woman’s Rights

Respect Immigrants

Respect Human Rights

Respect Nature

Respect truth

Respect Facts

Respect Journalism

Respect the First Amendment

If you want to learn more about respect, take a look at the Wikipedia entry:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Respect or the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy entry: https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/respect

Also, I created a freely-available on-line course on the related concept of Dignity. See:  https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Dignity

We hope this can unleash your creativity while reinforcing a powerful, unifying, and indivisible message.

I had heard the Beth Fertig NPR report. Which of course reiterates what we already had found concerning the detainment of undocumented workers for non-criminal, minor traffic violations.

And Malini's analysis/report on the state of affairs vis a vis immigration policy is spot on!

Thank you for posting both.

Best
